“Campfire Strikes My Memory”

Being a Boy Scout of the great brotherhood of Lord Baden Powell n the youngest n first Queen Scout in Singapore to have received the Queen Scout Certificate signed as Regina Elizabeth upon her ascending the throne after her father King George V died was my most treasured certificate. Amen!

In hiking n camping we burnt the campfires at night to share our meals, a tale, n sang along. The most memorable songs were “On Top of Old Smoky” n “Waltzing Maltida” the songs which I picked up at the “Pan-Pacific Jamboree, Greystane, Sydney, Australia 1952.

Other cowboy songs that come to memory “Red River Valley,” “Old Sorento,” n “Yellow Bird.”

Those were the best years of my life. Amen!
