In 1952 I attended the Pan-Pacific Boy Scouts’ in Greystane, Sydney, Australia. I was a member of the Singapore contingent. I qualifed as the first Queen Scout receceived my certificate from the present Queen Elizabeth of UK with the certicate signed by her Regina Elizabeth.
At that time I had only a Kodak Baby Brownie camera given to me by my late loving mother for the Jamboree. Since then my interest in photography grew into 135mm, medium format and view camera both analogue and digital, a range of lenses n accessories. Founded the two photographic societies, the Photograhic Society of Penang n the Society of Photographers Penang.
A starter of one or two photos here n there to introduce each theme then to focus on presenting more photos. A favorite is the rich black/white graduated monotone in film &/or digital. These made great impact!
I have moved down with Molly, mama to sleep downstairs since a few days ago (1 September 2020) as I started panting when going upstairs because of my right heart leaky valves and to prevent them getting worst. I also stopped driving immediately not to strain/stress my heart further n got Roland the boss of Unicolor Lab, a photolab, to collect my films to scan n deliver me two rolls of color films 135mm. He charged me RM5/- more for each roll compared to another photoshop but the collection/delivery service paid for the extra cost. The panting did not recur from that day moving down. Had good sleep n nap. Look forward to enjoy my photography.
Macrophotography is an obvious choice now because of the risk in going out during this coronavirus pandemic.
